Derby Road station is located on the Ipswich to Felixstowe branch of the East Suffolk Lines. The station is just north of the A1156 Felixstowe Road on the eastern side of Ipswich. Derby Road serves passengers in the Rose Hill section of town. Trains call at Derby Road hourly in each direction. It is only 12 minutes by rail from Ipswich Station where connections to London Liverpool Street, Norwich, Cambridge, and Peterborough are easily made.
