East Suffolk
Line in Bloom

The 2007
East Suffolk Line floral displays were officially launched 02 May
at Woodbridge railway station. Members of Woodbridge in Bloom unveiled
the first of the flowers that are now popping up at
stations along the line.
The group was also presented with a £135 cheque from Suffolk County Council by Woodbridge Mayor James Bidwell, East Suffolk Line Community Rail Partnership Chairman John Brodribb, and 'one' Rural Route Business Director Clive Morris.
Last year Woodbridge station helped the town to
win a Silver Gilt Award in the Anglia
in Bloom
contest.
Station adopters and other
volunteers along the 49 mile East Suffolk Line are busy filling tubs
and hanging baskets at their respective stations. Last year the disused
platform across from Oulton Broad South station was turned into a bed
of flowers using old sleepers by volunteers from Broadland Holiday
Village. This year look for another flower bed on the existing
passenger platform.
Most of the work on the floral displays is now well underway. Expect to see a rainbow of colours at your local East Suffolk Line station as Community Rail Week (19 to 27 May) approaches.
