This is a national
event, and takes place this year from 19 - 27 May inclusive. The
East
Suffolk Line will be organising a number of events, and will be involved
in others.
Building on the success of the East
Suffolk Line Walks, there will be a programme of guided walks. This will
cover at least three of the routes in the book, and will allow people to
sample some of the superb scenery and variety of landscape that East
Suffolk has to offer. Walks will include the Alde Valley (Wickham
Market station to Saxmundham), Wolfpack (Brampton to Halesworth) and
Easterling (Oulton Broad South to Lowestoft), and possibly more. The
current edition of the walks book -
available free from Tourist Information Centres, staffed rail stations,
local Suffolk libraries and many other outlets along the line - has proved so popular that a revised
version is already under way. If you have trouble finding a copy we
apologise - the new edition will be out very soon.
We
hope to be able to offer discounted entry to leading museums to rail
ticket holders, and will also be launching the 2007 East Suffolk Floral
Displays. East Suffolk Line station adopters have worked very hard for
several years to brighten up their local stations, and many passengers have said how much they appreciate the hard work that goes into the displays.
